Last week it was a blacksnake I found in the yard. This morning I looked out and this old girl was heading for the newly spread and seeded spot in the lawn. I used to see the snapping turtles in the late spring coming up to lay their eggs in the yard ( it was their land 15 years ago), but haven't seen any for a couple years. After taking some photos, I took her back to the creek to go find a better place to lay her eggs. More than likely, I'll find the new soil dug up tomorrow morning.

More and more I think snapping and softshell turtles are cool, I used to raise hell with them (trout fisherman and duck hunter) but any more something that old should
be respected. We see a fair amount of big ones 20-24" carapace while out shooting
carp.

Daggum Stacy, why do you get to have all the critters!!!!!
We're lucky to have a squirrel visit the back yard once a week! I guess that's my dog's fault. :D
We virtually never have a snake come through, no turtles or rabbits and such!
I love the little buggers!!!
We have lots of brush and such out back so there's plenty of hide outs for em. Maybe I need to put some food out for em. What would be good grub to attract snakes and turtles?
