TUSOK & ParaMilitary photos?

Not yet. Photos of prototypes aren't publically released until a new knife is within 6 months of commercial production.

Thx Carlos.
So we're looking at a minimum of 6 mos. Any idea as to an ETA?
If the proto/mockup that Bram had at the NYC show last year is indeed the TUSOK, this is going to be a Very Nice Knife.
regards-
Mike

The newest version of ther TUSOK was just completed..its much better than the one I had in NYC..
it addressed the minute ergonomic handle changes and a blade redesign..
I had it out @ Eugene..it went over extremely well..

thanx for the support!

Excellent,
I'll just know next time to not ask you again "how does this work?" in person...
Good work- looking forward to it.
Thx Bram,
Mike

Bram, sorry to be a pain, but in an earlier thread it was mentioned that the Tusok is essentially a Gunting Drone with a normal Gunting handle, but in blue.
Alas I haven't handled either one, but in the photos I can dig up I can't see any difference between the live (black) handle and the drone (red) handle. What am I missing?
Cheers,
Dave

p.s. when are you next doing a UK seminar?

Edited because I have had a total brainfart. What I meant was the CRMIPT, so this was completely off topic. Please replace reference to Tusok with CRMIPT and I will crawl back into my hole. Sorry. But original question remains - what is the difference between the Gunting Live and Drone handles?

Bram should reply to this soon, but lemme see if I can answer this one...

Bram recommends the drone as a non-lethal self defense device, because it's easier to get away with carrying, and the Gunting's made to be used closed anyway. So us civvies can carry the drone.
But cops generally don't have the option of carrying training devices as weapons, for obvious safety reasons. Hence the CRMIPT.

'Zat right, Bram?

(But what I _don't_ get is why it's gonna be a LEO exclusive. I can see not marketing the knife to civilians, but why go to so much effort to prevent us from getting our hand on 'em?)

I've had both; the red handle's horns are more rounded off, so as not to hurt quite so much. (at least, I assume that's why. Regardless, they're rounded.)

OK end of confusion: ROFL..
1) Gunting: black handle with sharp horns and edges.live blade
2) Drone: red handle with no sharp edges, non cutting blade
3) CRMIPT: blue handle the same as the black one. drone blade is bead blasted grey without all the rounded edges...
The CRMIPT is LEO only...no great lengths to keep out of others hands..Its made exclusively for me..its NOT a production Spyderco knife... As requested by LE agencies I'm keeping it LEO only..or in the LEO related field..
thats really simple..no overt motives...
Its made for me, an exclusive not for the general public..you cannot buy it from your local Spydie dealer..
OK??

TUSOK is another knife completely...the TUSOK is a mini Gunting with Kerambit heritage..its an EDC knife with a 2 3/8 blade..under 2.5
its light small and an EDC-MBC tool..and its an up close and personal tool..
OK.. no confusion anymore?

Thanks.. you all be safe!

Bram

I might be missing the answer to this question elsewhere, but, is the Tusok ETA still undetermined, IOW 6 months+ ?

I got to handle the three plastic prototypes of the TUSOK and the final version is, IMO, a must have. I was impressed by handle ergonomics, particularly in reverse grip. Great little knife. Hope Spyderco releases it soon.

Leo,
I too, handled the plastic, liked it,Bram smiled took it back"Told me I would really like the production one"!! Laughed ,when I ASKED "WHEN)!! GLAD YOU GOT TO HANDLE IT!
