Tutorial: How to post your pictures!

Hi everyone at RAT Cutlery. After seeing a couple people asking how to post pictures i decided to make a "step by step" tutorial on how to do it.

First you will have to take a picture with your camera and upload it onto you computer. Save it somewhere easy like to your desktop in a folder called "knives" for example. Then you will have to go to a site that lets you host images for free. I personally use http://photobucket.com/. I find it easy to use and have had no problems with it so far. Create an account with a user name and password and you are ready to go. Once done creating a free account click "MY HOME" in the top left hand corner of the screen. A blue box will appear that says "UPLOAD IMAGES AND VIDEOS". Click it. It will open a box asking you to select the picture you want to upload. Find your picture that you saved in the folder of your choice ( mine is on my desktop and i named it "knives"), double click it and it will upload it to photobucket. Then click on the blue box that says "SAVE AND RETURN TO ALBUM". Now you will see your photo you just uploaded. Move the mouse over it and a box underneath it will appear with links. Click on "DIRECT LINK" and it will turn blue. Right click and select "COPY". Go to your post that you are making in BladeForums and click on the box that says "INSERT IMAGE". (its yellow and kinda looks like its a mountain with a sun shining above it). Delete the text in the box and right click "PASTE" your link that you copied in the box. Select "OK". The link will appear in text in the space you are writing in. Be sure not to overwrite it with anything else you type.

This is great but it really belongs in a more specific forum and then you can just link to it when someone asks the question.
 
that looks reallllllllllllllly involved. I always just squirt some glue on my monitor and then tape the picture into place while the glue dries.

I know but i don't really go on any other forums and I'm mostly in the RAT Cutlery sub forum and after seeing some people ask "how do i post pictures on here", i thought i would help out the RAT brothers a little.
 
This should be a sticky before it becomes lost on like page 55.....and we cant use the search feature. Now i know how to do it.

Very nice tutorial (screenshots and all)!

One addendum, it might be easier for a first timer to go to a site like tinypic.com, imgur.com, etc., because all you do is click upload, find your pic, and it gives you the link in many formats, including with the

You can sticky any thread for yourself.
Just bookmark it and put it in a "knife info" folder.

PS This kind of information belongs in Service & Support, where it is a regular topic.

Alternate mehtod: Instead of using the "Direct Link" code under your image on PhotoBucket, and the "Insert Image" icon here on BF, you can copy the "IMG Code" and simply paste that directly into the text box here.
