I just watched a show on Nat Geo about the history of shaving. It was called 'Closer Shave'. It was really amazing. The straight razor to the evolution of the safety razor and much more. The illustrations were awesome. If you see it on your guide channel then tune in. I am sure you will learn much. ;) Too much time on my hands. :o

One might very well ask why National Geographic would do a whole, full-length documentary on such a silly little topic. But watch it carefully and you will see that it is about so much more than shaving. Shaving is one of just a few things which has existed continuously in human society for ten thousand years; it is one of just a few threads which runs continuously through human history for so long, one of the few things which connects so many generations. So it is a great nexus from which to study much more than shaving and the resulting documentary is a great piece of work to both enjoy and to study.

Thanks for suggesting it.
