While it was cancelled off of A&E, can't imagine their reasoning, going for a different viewing market I suppose :( after 3 seasons of course they end with a cliff hanger. The hope is the show will be picked up by another network and just saw this youtube video that shows some glimmer of light;

Fingers crossed that it will happen for the crew of the Longmire show.

I read all the books. I don't remember which book had Branch and Barlow shooting trap and I don't remember which one was shot or if either was shot

Longmire was the most watched show on A&E. I heard that it was canceled for lack of sponsors, but I don't know for sure.

So far there are 10 Longmire books plus a collection of 12 short stories. #11 is due next year.

Thanks Gary. I didn't know the show had been cancelled. I really enjoyed watching it and definitely want it to come back. Mike

I liked it too. Hope it comes back. Seems all that's making it anymore are reality shows, high viewership, low cost.

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has been canceled! Oh no! I'll really miss that ugly little brat and her ugly mother. :barf: Some of the reality shows are kind of interesting,
but most are garbage. Pawn Stars has been ruined. It has turned into a soap opera with the 4 main characters bitching at each other. Some of the reality cop shows are OK.

yep, in getting Amazon Prime, I've watched most of the Pawn Stars and also American Restoration, but Pawn stars like you said is getting stranger, heard rumors that some or a lot of the things that come in already belong to them and just setup to make it more interesting. You can learn some things about history you may never have heard about so it's suppose to bring that kind of info, but it is getting a little old.

The Longmire books, one thing after watching the show, you can hear the actors voices and mannerisms while reading, Henry of course is a larger guy in the book but I do like how he's portrayed in the show too.

For things that might be spoilers for those that haven't watched some episodes yet or read the books, trying to see if this code will hide and only if you want to see a spoiler will you click to open this up...at your own peril ;) as I also wondered who if any one was shot at the end of season 3, cliff hangers are just that...

Hmmm well, I guess we don't have that code on this forum, too bad, it could come in pretty handy for things just like this, if someone knows if it's written differently let me know.

I didn't know it was cancelled either. What a disappointment, it was a good show.

I've always liked the Longmire books. The show was pretty good but I rarely watch anything but sports and ancient discovery types of shows, which are not really documentaries but kind of pretend to be. (And of course Ancient Aliens because those guys are awesomely batpoop crazy!).

I'd like to cut the cable ties, but it seems like everything I like is on different packages so I end up with hundreds of stations so that I can watch 5 or 6 of them. And of course my wife watches different channels than I do so we need those too.

I heard it was moved to the USA Network. I too liked it, and would watch it on weekends if I was home.

I've watched the first two seasons on Netflix (I don't have a cable subscription). I hope the third comes to Netflix soon, and I hope the series continues past three seasons.

Oh, and Katee Sackhoff is hot.

Oh well, it's a good excuse to pick up a book. I've always loved reading, and even now, devour four or five books a week. My mission now, read all the Longmire series.:D

Don't know if any of us saw the Spartacus series on TV, but I went through withdrawal after it was over. It was certainly grown up fare, but I really got hooked.

It seems every one in alaska with an intresting job has been on a "reality" show.I know 8 people that have been cast for shows. I have been approached by six different producers wanting to do a show on hunting for mammoth tusks. The only one I was interested in was to be in Siberia and it didn't pan out.
I was talking to a guy at the transfer site where I was dumping my trash who told me he had been interviewed for a show that involves the people that salvage from the dumpsters.

I understand that in Alaska men greatly outnumber women, maybe a show of a few guys searching for a wife? Think it would go over?:) Throw in a nude weekend and you've got a winner! (Course, it would be in the summer, Lol)

I sure hope Longmire starts up again. Just started getting really good when it ended.

That was an enjoyable program, and shot in NM, so I liked the scenery. On local radio, Max Robbins (TV guide fame) said that the show was very popular, but among the wrong audience--too old--and that was why it was cancelled. They needed something that appealed to a younger demographic.
