I am looking for an upgrade for my grinder and inrecently found out about the TW-90 grinder and was curious. Is it worth doubling the price of the KMG for the added features of the TW-90? I was planning on buying a KMG and will still probably get one but is it worth the enemy's price jump for the additional features of the TW-90.

Yes,

Another thing to consider is the tw90 comes with all the attachment that you are going to pay extra for with the kmg, and the tw is plug and play, no assembly required.

If you're tight on money I would say it's best to get the kmg and the extras later. They are both very close in price after you figure in the extras for the kmg. I like having a dedicated horizontal anyways.

TW90.

If nothing else, the one thing I don't like about my KMG-clone is that can't flip it 90º. It might not seem like a handy feature, but it is. Fate being as fickle as ever, I finished my build just before the TW90 was first publicized and never even thought about such a design feature.

I have a tw90 and LOVE IT! The horizontal feature came in handy recently on a gunsmithing project of all things, but I was sure proud I had that capability.

I've got a pretty heavily tricked out KMG but if I was starting all over I'd think very, very
hard about a TW90.

I own a TW90 and a KMG.

There is no comparison; the TW90 is a far superior grinder in every way.

The KMG is not a working grinder, rather a collection of parts you are expected to assemble and paint. I don't want to do either for that kind of money.

The KMG is a good grinder, although I think there are better grinders available for less.

The TW90 is a "plug and play" grinder that is exceptionally well thought out.

If an honest comparison is made, I think the TW90 is actually cheaper than a KMG.

Damnit. I was hoping you guys wouldn't say stuff like this. I really would like to upgrade my 4x36 but I still lack a lot of money, Even for the KMG. Hopefully I will be getting a decent job with a decent pay so I can hopefully afford it. Anyway thanks for the info guys.

I've got a KMG and am very happy with it. If I had it to do over again I'd go for the TW-90, it looks like a better machine overall with more features. That said, I'm not planning on getting one as the KMG does everything I need it too and I've got a horizontal grinder as well.

If your tight on funds, take a look at Coote grinders. There a good solid machine without a lot of the bells and whistles that move expensive machines have. Even after I upgraded to a KMG I still have mine and still use it, though not nearly as much as I used to.

Or if your handy with tools build one. You can buy the wheels and make the rest, there's a lot of plans out there, or design your own, it's not rocket surgery or brain science.
