At a central Florida gun show.Bought a beautiful .32 semi that looks almost new. Handles are plastic.It seems to be made by P&W Arms in Redwood Wa. Numders read 9x16 . Is this some goofy caliber? Grips brown plastic.

I am unable to rack it back & after quite a spell decided to ask for help.

# 2 is a very old S&W revolver.. Cannot figure to open cylinders. As the cylinders rotate you read patented #'s & dates. Very solidly built. A great candidate for bluing.


Tuesday my VA provided groomer [ Shampoos, shaves,toenails,etc]will be here & maybe she can send photos. Thank you.

9x16 is not Makarov, that's 9x18, perhaps you read the number wrong? Hatchetjack is probably correct but you should be very sure before attempting to fire anything out of it.

FYI, .380 caliber in metric is 9x17, traditional 9mm Parabellum is 9x19, there are other less common 9mm rounds.

Are there any other markings, stamps, etc on the firearm? Is there a start on the plastic handle? Got a pic? I'm pretty good with identifying combloc pistols and love the Makarov pistol quite a bit myself.
 
On the S&W there's a little knurled button on the left side of the gun behind the cylinder that you push foreward to release it i believe.

Very old? One of the original bottom break rimfire S&W revolvers?

At long last my ammo problem is solved. Gun is Bulgarian made and fires 9x18 Makarov 9 mm ammo. Box of 50 is about 20 bux.

Great job on getting the Mak! I love makarovs, carry them and care for them. Finding a good holster is a bit of a bugger but there are good makers out there. Also ammo is way cheaper than 20 bucks a box and they absolutely love to eat the wolf and bear series of ammo. Plus you can get Hornaday critical defense ammo for them too.
