Hi everyone, don't think I ever posted in this sub forum, have been here many times though:thumbup: Like the title say's I tweaked my Pocket Bowie sheath for pocket carry. I love this knife and between it and my Izula they pretty much rule my EDC.
I just didn't care for the knife shifting around when I actually did pocket carry so I thought that there's gotta be another way. I have always liked a clipped folder do to some nerve damage in my hand so this thought came to mind and I took the time (approx 30 minutes) to implement the idea. I really like the final results
I had some Molle Locks that I wasn't using and thought this idea would work.
I'm a huge fan of Nite Ize self adhesive clips (have them on several SAKS & my cell phone) so this was just a no brainer to me. These things really work and work well---the adhesive hasn't failed me once and it's going on a year on some of my other items. They have a pretty neat little self locking/catching mechanism that's very easy to disengage. The mechanism actually helps when drawing the knife so the whole sheath stays in pocket:thumbup:
I took one of the Molle locks and cut it down, sanded the ends, also grooved a small area as to not interfere with the bump out on the original Kydex sheath and here's the final results
The nice thing is that I can still neck carry without removing the clip. The way I wear it puts the clip side away from me so it's works out really well.
In the work I do there are times I wear a safety harness and pocket carry interferes with the harness so the neck carry wins out.
