Hey fellow knife nuts. Here's something I threw together for my brother in law/very amateur/beginners try at knife modding. I gifted him a Manbug g10 a few months ago after he showed me he was carrying a small, no name slipjoint that wouldn't fully close anymore, leaving about 1/4 of the end of the blade sticking out. I promptly told him I'd get him something better and that wouldn't likely stab him in the nuts (he likes just carrying a small knife loosely in his pocket). He's a more hands on IT/computer repair man and needles to say he uses his knife, so it has a acquired a chip and he stained the grey g10 quite a bit. Here's what I did mind you i still need to sharpen out that chip in the blade and that it all turned out darker than I had intended, the I meant to dye the g10 a more traditional red but left in too long and got a maroon color and did the same with the blade and got a deeper etch. I also etched the backspacer.
Thoughts and comments are appreciated! Even if I could have tried something else or done something different, constructive criticism. Next step is to start actually making custom scales!:DD

Looks great!! Love the manbug myself, have the black VG-10 and the ZDP-189 is on it's way.

Hey thanks for the for the kind words! It ain't easy posting stuff up when there's sooooo much talent and awesome knives actually being made here by forum members. You'll love ZDP-189, damn strong steel and as long as you've got some diamond stones or coarse ceramic rods to start with, it ain't as tough to sharpen as we knife aficionados like to say ;) well well, at least in a blade as small as a Manbug (or D'Fly in my case) Cheers!
