After seeing a few guys use the short usmc leather sheath for their tweeters, it got me wondering if the leather sheath from a benchmade bushcrafter would fit a bk16/bk17 (I doubt the bk15 would fit)

Has anyone else tried this? If so, how'd it fit?

Looks like the right person with both knives has not come by yet. Id help you if I could.

Anyone got both knives?

Ok so my 16 doesn't really fit the Benchmade sheath. Length is fine, but the 16's blade is slightly taller do you would be slicing into the welt. Not advisable.

My favorite of the shelf leather option for the 16/17 is the K-pattern sheath from LT Wright. This is the same sheath that comes with the Genesis, GNS, and others, but can be ordered by itself.

Thanks guys - I had a feeling it wouldn't pan out but worth a try, thanks for checking.

Damn fine sheath for the price...

Made this for my 15 but this knife also fit so it was in there and handy when I took the picture.

The title of this thread made me chuckle.. tweeter. there are so many nice sheaths made by so many makers. Nix being a great example. Thats a fine looking sheath Nick. Cody, Why not go with a custom?

Yes why...
I almost have as much pride in the sheathes my knives are in as the knives themselves. A well made sheath will last you a lifetime.

Thank you sir!

Wow those are nice!!

NixKustoms I couldn't be happier with your work man! These things are built like a tank, comfortable and they look pretty damn good too. Jonny1280 and I should start a group buy system, cause we just got some new steel and need some sheathes soon.

Hahaha right!!! I should start stock piling them and send you then as needed. ;) I guess I should get to work and bring done down for the trade blanket...

I'll just add one more thought...
I horse trade like crazy with knives it's a big part of the game for me. I hardly ever trade a knife for gear. That being said I've traded several knives for sheathes over the years without hesitation. The sheath is just so important to me personally. I live on a small ranch in Oregon and I have a 4" or so fixed blade on my hip daily. I have a ton of knives and I take the sheath into account for what I'm gonna carry for the task that day. Pony up the cash and get a great custom sheath you won't regret it.

Hahaha I didn't even catch that - I was an audio guy for about 7 years so my auto correct leans in that direction a lot

That is also in the possible options at this point, I just need to decide on kydex or leather for my next custom sheath - I have some azwelke kydex already and love it but no custom leather yet

I love my kydex sheathes! There is just a way the leather wears and forms to the user, it becomes a part of you...
