Hey Uncle Bill, did you ever get any of the wee choppers in? I knew you were sold out for a while and I never got back around to asking about them. I'd really love one with a wood handle, but wood/horn doesn't really matter as long as it's a good'un. If you got one would you throw it under the bed for the dust bunnies to guard 'til I get back stateside? Thanks if you can, and thanks anyhow if you can't.:D

Sarge,
NOBODY, wants that crappy ,little 12" stuff! Can't get them ,KAMI'S say they ain't REAL K's & they refuse to waste their time with 12"!12":barf:Why even the apprentices won't lower themselves to MAKE 12" whatever's!

PS,even the dust bunnies "throw them back"! They refuse to let them under the bed!!

Then please explain why the master himself, Bura, makes Dhankutas?

If the kamis don't like the smaller blades...why then, do you think (yes, I know that there is an implicit presumption in that statement) that The MASTER KAMI, Bura, developed what he called the "New Model" and made it ten inches over-all? Could it be that you are not correct, and the master of the craft knows not only what he is doing, but in fact, has a greater awareness of the utility of the various sized blades?

(P.S. "Saint-hood is not a self-conferred designation. Someone OTHER than you has to think you are saintly.)

Look here Duck, not only is a 12 inch Ang Khola a khukuri, it's a very useful and handy one. I loved mine while I had it, and the radio sergeant who has it now loves it too.

"12 inch ain't no K", hmmmm, I have a 12" Pen Knife, 12" Dhankuta Kothimoda, and a 12" Ang Khola Dhankuta "Convention Special". All of 'em masterfully crafted by Bura to be not only khukuris, but excellent khukuris. Big khukuris are incredible blades, but so are the smaller ones.

"Sarge, I have this special 12 inch AK......"

"The special 12 inch has horn handle -- they all do/"

Sold Uncle, dadgum at all the sales pressure, but you'll need to hang on to it for me, 'cause I don't know when I'm coming home. The log jam is already starting to build.:( I don't mind, it would bother me considerably more if the guys that deserve it most were'nt the ones leaving first. My daughter's birthday is the 29th of July. As long as I'm home for her birthday I'll sit over here and roast contentedly. Missed her birthday last year by way of Afghanistan, so I'd like to be home for this one.

Then I wish you good luck getting back by July.

How old will she be?

Sarge good luck on getting back for your daughters birthday, will be praying for you.

"How old will she be?"
She'll be seventeen, quite a young lady, and I couldn't be prouder of her. She's a passing fair shot with a bow as well, something her daddy taught her.;)

"Don't worry, Sarge, the special 12 incher will be here when you get back."
You have my humble gratitude Uncle. If things work out right, that little Ang Khola is going to be used to rough out a very special bow stave. The finished bow will be used this year to take a deer or a hog for a feast.:D

It seems like the 18" AK picks up where the 12" AK leaves off, and that the 15" AK is more general purpose when the other two aren't handy. Is this about right?
