Here's two other integrals Ron took to Solvang. Hopefully Ron will supply some specs on these.

very rad knives in their own right! Ron Newton rocks.

Chuck, I had no idea that a professional image existed of these two integrals/sheaths. I was lucky enough to draw the ironwood piece at Solvang and am now elated to have your wonderful image of these great pieces! Thanks!

Bob

EDIT: Ron's text from the catalogue: "Feather pattern Damascus forged from 1095 & 15N20 steels, integral keyhole construction. Stabilized desert ironwood handle. Knife is accompanied with a Paul Long custom sheath. Blade: 3 1/2", overall: 7 3/8"."

The only difference in description for the other piece is the handle, which is "Stabilized ebony..".

EDIT #2: They look so strikingly great together it's a shame they were pulled apart by the drawing system, too bad they couldn't have stayed a pair!

Very nice.

Amazing, how he managed to get the patterns of the damascus look so similar on both knives!

Great stuff!

Kind regards,

Jos

Thanks guys. And Bob, thanks for saving me some strokes on the keyboard with the descriptions. Much appreciated. Although both blades came from the same feather billet, the ironwood piece yielded a little thicker blade. Chuck, terriffic photo. As usual, very attractive clothing provided by my favorite sheath designer...Paul Long!

Although both blades came from the same feather billet......./QUOTE]

My background as a Biologist cries out to disagree with you, Ron...
These are actually feathers from two totally different species of exotic birds!! :)

Amazing!

Great picture Chuck!

All the best,
