Several years ago my wife and I invited our youngest son and his new wife on a weekend camping trip. Our son's wife called my wife and asked about provisions for her hair dryer and lighted make-up mirror. My wife explained this was a camping trip and there were no provisions for electricity.Ever since that time we've affectionately referred to our daughter-in-law as our Princess.

A couple weeks ago while spending time with us,my wife showed our Princess the new set of hunting knives that I scaled down for her. When our son and his wife arrived home he called and asked if I would scale down a set of knives for her,as she expressed a desire to go hunting with him.Since it was for our Princess,I went the extra step and mirror polished the blades.

Mirror polishing the blades really help them to slide while cutting. Not hang up. i.e. meat on on the side of the blade. DM

That is a good gift, especially with the extra love.

Sweet set. Great story, and even better gesture. Thank you for sharing

Buck's twin set model 104 combined a 103 & 102. A twin set from the late 60's, perhaps 1970. DM

I like the caper that came in the 117. It would be a good bird and trout knife. The others that came in those twin sets could do that work too. (102& 118). DM

Sporting, some twin sheaths were of the fold over design like yours. Others were made from two pieces of flat leather. I have both type sheaths.
I don't know if one is a earlier design. DM

The sheath with two keeper straps were the earlier of the two types. The 1965 catalog shows the Twinset in the sheath with the two keeper straps. The flap style sheath was introduced in 1966 according to catalogs.

Very nicely done. Are you using the stock sheaths? Or haveing new ones made? Maybe a custom double sheath? Please post pictures of whatever you come up with.
