I've got a friend who will soon be doing extended travel in Asia. I'm thinking of getting him a Twin Task to take along--a handy LED light for usual needs, and a really bright light for emergencies.
What would you recommend for someone travelling pretty light? Lithium has the weight advantage, but alkaline batteries will be a lot more readily available. I don't think that cold will be an issue on this trip (unless he's still gone come winter, and chooses to stay somewhere cold...)
And part of the idea is to have a blinding tool, if it's ever needed. Some of them might not be bright enough for that. I don't know where the cutoff is.
Feel free to suggest other lights if you think they meet the specs.
