Well...if all goes as planned I'm taking the twins for their first camping trip  They are very excited (So am I ) I think CrowSniper & Turkey george are gonna join us for a night of Fishing :D We are staying at the local camp ground (10min from my house) FishTrap Lake, Grapevine Ky. We have been fishing there the last 2 weekends & we have had a great time so now it's time to camp ! They have been wearing their knives Koyote made for them on their belt (I'm so Proud) :D I'll be posting plenty of Pics. Any advice for their first trip ?

Sounds like its gonna be a blast.
How old are they?
My kid really enjoyed the "bonus" catfish we caught at night.
Used some crawlers and stink bait, threw the hooks
out on the bottom right at campfire time.
got some of those bells you hook on the poles
My kid was "did you hear it! it rang! I know i heard it!"
While burning stuff and snacking he would whittle
shavings into the fire.
A variety is really what he liked.
so fishing in the day, hiking, frisbee, had one of those
supercheap airsoft guns and we had a war...
lotta fun

i would make sure they each have their own little kit, flashlight etc...

I am thinking of taking my kids camping soon. The only thing that holds me back is my youngest is only 19 months and he is an energetic little guy that keeps us all on our toes son I think as much as I love the little guy he would take away alot of the fun. I think we may wait a year and see what happens.

You are doing the right thing, at the right time.

I am pushing 64, and I remember camping with my Dad when I was that age, just like it was yesterday.
Your kids will remember too. It is very important to instill the love of the outdoors at an early age. Showing respect for nature, and respect for your family will always pay dividends. :D

Excellent - have a good time!

I'm taking my 4-year old daughter "camping" this weekend up in NH. I say "camping" because we are using one of those little cabins instead of the tent. She didn't like the tent much last time, and I want to make sure she has fun.

Awesome stuff ... camping with kids is great fun.

I took my 9 month old daughter to Yosemite last summer and we spent four nights in a tent. We also did a backpacking trip when she was 7 months old. Both trips went very well. She's now 18 months old and we went again 2 weeks ago. Because she's running around now, it's a little more challenging, but if you're organized it's brilliant. She loved roaming through the woods ... climbing over logs etc. The key with camping and kids is keep it fun and make sure they're comfortable.

Enjoy!

Well we got way to much rain for our little camp out tonight:thumbdn: The twins were a little disappointed so I took them to the movies to watch "The Karate Kid" & told them we would try it again next weekend :)
