Twins: Turnbull "non-tkcl"

Another great pair :) If time permits.., whose hot-blued damascus is the bolster material??

Beautiful set Frac.

EL, the bolsters are Eggerling if I am not mistaken and they are even more beautiful than the pic can show.

I think I recognize that one on the bottom:).
(used to be a neighbor of mine :D.

Gus is correct (of course). When the tkcl project was being discussed, this project sort of appeared and got 100% subscribed before the tkcl project proposals were fully ironed out. I don't know the exact details as it happened before I joined. Yet Ralph made the knives as a limited edition set essentially all for tkcl members, one of whom (Greg Lane aka txlazer) came up with the nickname of the "non-tkcl" folder. There were as I recall 20 + a prototype that was auctioned off. Anyone remember who has the prototype?

PS, I am usually willing to buy these knives (the non-tkcl series) at the original price if unused until I am broke. It is a great little knife.

What really happened is makers were submitting their proposed knife designs and everyone wanted the Turnbull(his design was the first or real close to the first). Some of the other makers were kind of miffed that they hadn't got a chance to submit so Ralph being the gentleman that he is ,"bowed out"Then someone said lets do a "non TKCL" and here we are.The man is incredable.I received mine on Christmas eve. What a present.WOW.

Well, I had heard intimations of something like that but wanted to be as polite as possible. There is no question Ralph is THE MAN.

Want to see more of his? Check out:

FYI. Now that I have an Arne Mason leather pouch I actually carry one of these jewels. A nice relief from that old Sebenza!
