Twitch XL Problems

I just bought a Twitch XL and found two problems with it.
First it was very hard to open. I pulled out the blade and used a ceramic stone to smooth out the opening notch. You could see it was rough.
The blade now opens very easily. Problem fixed.

I hope you can help me with my second problem. The handles are very smooth and I have dropped the knife several times while pulling it from my pocket. I made a lanyard for it but that does not help much. I am considering friction tape or stimpling on the handles. I don't like my idea's so let's hear your's.

3 m sand paper type stick on, trim to fit in any shape you lilke before you stick it on........carefully.

Once you stick it it is on to stay.

I contacted SOG. They said to bead blast the handles or use the friction tape.
