Here are two 13 inch Balance khukuris. They weigh in at only 12 oz.

The top is made by HI and is the better of the two. The fit and finish are very good. Hardness good. Brass inlay and scrollwork back of blade. Handle has hatchmarks as shown. Scabbard and frog very good. Karda and chakma made to match village kamis -- small and okay but not HI quality. Blade marded with HI logo only.

Bottom was made by village kami. Fit and finish okay but not like HI. Buttcap standard fare which I personally do not like. Hardness pretty good. Bass inlay and scrollwork. Handle has hatchmarks as shown. Scabbard and frog decent enough but not up to HI standards. Karda and chakma typicall village style and size. Blade marked "made in Nepal" left side. Note: The black marking on the blade just below the sun symbol is scrollwork and not a forging flaw.
