Dear all,
Has anyone modified an opinel to fit two blades? I am a whittler and use a #8 in stainless with a modified blade shape. It is great but sometimes it would be really nice to have a two blade lengths in one opinel for carving on the go with only one knife. My thought is one could take apart a #8, sand/file out the slot to be a little wider, put two blades on the pivot pin separated by a washer, and then put the knife back together and have an excellent, comfortable whittling knife with a roughing and detail blade. To those who know opinels well, do you think this is feasible?
Thank you for your help and wisdom,
Bryson
