So I just got one of the autumn gold improved 48 trappers, and wanted to carry it. I'm a member of the single blade cult and always try to convert whenever possible. I have been swayed brothers and sisters.

I've got the BF 2012 forum knife, the improved 48 trapper, my 92 eureka jack, a SM Heritage jack and a host of current and vintage two blade jacks, pens and trappers itching to be carried.

A small holdout of single blades stands in the way. I'm going to put the single blades down in favor of some two blade love. I think my antique yellow saw cut Charlow and my eureka jack might be a good start.

Why does it have to be all or nothing? I own 1-blade through 4-blade knives. I carry whichever one(s) I feel like. You get to write your own rule book.

One blade sure is lighter in the pocket, and I almost never use the second blade on any knife. Two backsprings is a deal killer.

The main blade on my carry knives very rarely gets dull, but I'm a blade geek that way. Sharpening knives is fun! :D

write "oops..." or some other phrase.
And you have erased the post.

The forum software will not allow a blank post. IIRC it requires at least 5 letters.

Not all or nothing, just a change. I have tried carrying an old Imperial cattleman by itself but I had my single bladers right there in my truck if I decided to go back. No reserves this time.

Dan, I would go with the the #48 "Improved" trapper or the #92 Eureka jack (the 2012 Forum knife might be a bit too big/heavy to make the transition). Personally, I like multi-blade knives so I can have at least one curved and at least one straight blade. More versatility and utility. Something like a 2 blade jack with a clip/spear and a pen would probably never be put in my pocket, no matter how pretty. I'd rather have one of the blades be straight, or just carry a single blade knife instead.

I'm a 1 blade fan too, yet to find a 2 blade knife that's slim enough for pocket carry and still retain the traditional style I go for

About the only 2 blade knife that would turn my head would be a two blade trapper that included a saw blade

One of the reasons I prefer traditionals over one-handers is the ability to carry multiple blade shapes. Then I can use a blade with a shape which is optimized for the task at hand.
