Two-bladed Stockman?

Over in another sub-forum here in BF, a member (never.to.sharp) mentions sharpening a knife for a co-worker, and he calls it a Schrade 'two-blade' Stockman. Did Schrade ever make a two-blade Stockman?

I thought the Stockman pattern was always three blades, although I did see a four-blade Stockman once, that was not a Congress.

I do have a two-blade SchradeUSA pocketknife, called the Middleman (330T). Both blades pivot on one side.

The reason I ask is that the Stockman is my all-time favorite knife pattern. Once I learned what each blade type was used for, it's the most handy type of slipjoint, IMO. (But, of course, I just couldn't say no to all those OTHER patterns that needed a home too . . . )

Orca, the 93OT may be what he was referring to. It is a 2 blade, Turkish Clip and Sheepfoot that looks to be built on a similar frame as the 897UH premium stock.

There is also two open stock knives that fit that description. The 893 and some 825SS that had two blades.

The 893 number falls in line with the 93OT. The 825 is like one where they ran out of spey blades??? Most 825 pattern knives had three.

It seems like the two blade stockman were kind of unlisted patterns. A 4 bladed stockman would be the 44OT.

Thanks for the info, guys. Boy, I've got some learning to do. I look for Stockman patterns (any brand) whenever I go into a hardware or sporting goods store. I need to get on this forum more and learn a little bit before I ignore the other patterns, I guess.

The 33OT was another two-blade stockman, or stockman-serpentine-jack. Whatever... Anyway, it was the same frame as the 34OT, but with only two blades.

I've got a 93 OT and it is one of my edc knives. It is just a super knife.

So, to clarify, even though the 330T is called a Middleman, it's actually a two-blade Stockman? It's the same style, but with the spay blade absent. That's where I'm confused. But then, it makes sense that any manufacturer can call any of their patterns what they want.

I guess the main point is that I love all the three-blade pattern knives. I've seen the names Stockman, Wrangler, Whittler, and, of course, variations on those themes. Makes for an interesting hobby!

The official name for the 33OT is the "Middleman Jack". The "jack" part being that both blades are on the same end. So I guess you could call it a Serpentine Jack, although the square bolsters to me are more stockman-ish.

One of my favorites is the 61OT. Compared to the 34 the 61 is longer, has rounded bolsters, and a more exagerated serpentine curve.

Can anyone tell me the run time of the 610T Start finish years , My old man has had one for 20 years i have never be able to buy one of the shelf in the last 10 .

thanks Mate! i was lucky enough to buy one recently in new condish. also could you tell me what the names of the three different large blades are called in different models eg 340t has the clip the 610t has a much smoother hump on the back of the blade
