Two Bushcraft Sheaths

I made both of these recently.

The first is for a knife I designed and had made. I haven't really named it, though it is a take off of the nessmuk design. The top edge of the knife is sharpened as well and does a great job at light to moderate chopping. The sheath has a firesteel loop and a pouch on the front for a Leatherman. This was my first attempt at a waxed sheath, so it didn't turn out great, but not too bad either.

This second one is a sheath I made for a Laconico Nessmuk that I left at my folks house, so no pics of the knife. This is my second attempt at hot waxing, it went much smoother. The firesteel loop is a little different. I cut a notch out of the sheath and put a loop of leather through it. It is sewn to the welt and its own little portion of the sheath. It is very low profile.

The second one shows how much improvement you have made from the first one.

If it holds the knife - keeps it and you safe - and YOU like - it is a GREAT sheath! ;)

Thanks guys. The second one looks better admittedly. It wasn't as complicated. The top one had to have a welt on the top as well to keep the sharpened top edge from cutting through the leather. It made it hard to get the pouch to sit right and still allow it to be sewn on. It will be the last complicated sheath I do. It just isn't worth the trouble.

ah man you've done a good job on the integral fire loop sheath. you could make sheaths for me anytime.
all good
