Not only do I provide photo coverage from the show we attend, but I try to purchase some knives if I find items I like.

At this show I had nothing specific in mind when attending much the same as last year when I bought three from Tommy Gann.

This time as I was getting thru the Guild section on late Saturday, I came across a table of a maker I had not heard of before -- James Sponaugle.

We have a nice collection of Chute knives and this one looked very nice with good workmanship with fit and finish commensurate with the price of the knife so it has no become part of the Chute display.

A few minutes later as I moved thru the tables, I came across the table of Charles Vestal and found this one

which has also been added to the display. Always looking for nice Chutes.

One nice thing folks is that some of the makers such as Charles Vestal a maker who is a CKCA member offer discounts to CKCA collectors. In Charles' case, he offers 10% of the base price of his knife being offered. Sure a good deal for people when thinking about joining CKCA. Great benefit in addition to others that are offered by the association and its members.

Each of these is well done, but the Vestal in particular makes a strong impression. Dude has skills.
