I thought I would challange myself with a handle mod with some material I hadn't used before and a more difficult installation. You don't see stag very often on Busse knives so I thought I would try it. I wanted to keep the micarta as a bolster, so I thought I would try the G-Rex style. I made it a little more difficult by dovetailing the the two together. I have a little more to do in adding some brown to the white area of the stag, but other than that it is done, what do you think?

I liked the stag G-Rex so much, I thought I would make an even more difficult mod! You also don't see carbon fiber used on Busse knives, so I decided to do a double G-Rex dovetail bolster handle mod. I really like the way this one ended up, it made a nice palm swell and the carbon fiber really stands out!

Nice job Ducci and the dovetailing is a classy treatment. That's one of the things I like about the Thourot knives I own.

Ducci,
That's some fantastic work!!! I agree with PG about the dovetale. Excellent work guy!!!

SWEET!!!! Those look great. Hows the Stag handled one feel in hand????

I'll admit, it doesn't look like it would feel too good, but the ramp on the stag where it meets the micarta kind of gives it a thumb rest on one side and a finger rest on the other for a positive grip. Plus the length is short enough for the butt to fit in your palm, kind of like the rounded end of a awl.

Tim you have some really cool toys. And from the looks of it you know how to use them.
