Went over to my parent’s house today and I found they’ve made two new additions to the family. A couple of the cutest tiny kittens you’ve ever seen.

They were found abandoned by an acquantance of my father’s. He couldn’t keep them since he’s allergic to cats, and so my father took them (as always!).

They’re so young they’re not even on solid food yet. My father’s been feeding them special milk with an eyedropper type thing.

One boy, Ricky, and a girl named Lucy.

The boy already bit my nose a couple times. Sharp little teeth!

Here they both are….Ricky on the left and Lucy on the right. The boy’s a bit more reddish than the girl.

“What you lookin at?” , asks Ricky.

The girl with my watch as a size reference.

Another with her. Isn’t she cute?

And Ricky the little boy. A real trouble maker in the making. Can you tell?

And here, finally they’re both asleep. Gotta be really quiet or they’ll start up another chorus of meows. Well, more like squeaks.

I'm allergic to cats, myself, so we don't keep any around. We're dog people, but those are some cute little guys and they are tiny. Nice pics.

Better be nice to them while they're small.
You know how dangerous the big cats are. :)

Awwwwwwwwwww, they are adorable little kittens!!! Have they been to the Vet. yet, to make sure that they are healthy? They are so precious!!

Aww, they're so cute! They look like they just barely have their eyes open! :)

 What is wrong with you rep8??? I think we should use YOU for target practice you troll.

I found a ginger kitten like that about 15 years ago, abandoned in a car outside our house. One day he got hit by a car so the missus takes him down to the vet.I get home from work and she asks me to go pick him up.Twelve hundred bucks later I got a half shaved cat that can't walk.I can think of better ways to spend that kind of money on half shaved pussy. He was a good cat.Used to kill rats as a kitten when he wasn't much bigger than them.

Not that I agree with shooting cats, but in places they can be a problem. Some states even have limited hunts to decrease the population of feral cats. I guess since to most people they are pets, that killing them is wrong. However, sometimes wild animals that experience a population explosion do need to be thinned for the good of the 'herd' and the habitat they are living in.

That being said I have taken in strays my whole life. My last stray was a kitten about that size if not smaller. My advice to your father is to take the mothers role. Which means smackin the crap out of them when they deserve it. My cat now thinks she rules the house and yard and if you tick her off will quickly sink her toenails and teeth into you. I really think it has to do with the fact she was not exposed to her mother at all and received no discipline as a small kitten.

She is sweet when she wants to be and has quite the personality, but she does have a wild streak in her. Good luck and hopefully there wont be a link to ignore me as well.

Okay, for Rep8 I'd like to point out that the original poster is registered in NEW ZEALAND, several thousand miles away from our feral cat problem. And those are really cute little kitties. Even though though I'm more of a dog person I still can't help myself every time I see a kitten I want to bring it home with me.

I know that in some areas there are programs in place to capture the feral cats, examine them, vaccinate them, spay/neuter them, tag them, and then release them.

I don't remember all of the reasons for the program, just remember reading about it recently.

Speaking of little pussy cats, someone should ask His Gerbilness about his. But I'd do it in W&C.

We do have a feral cat problem in New Zealand especially with the fact that many of our native birds are flightless. If I see any cats in the bush or forests I will have a crack at them simply to protect the native birds.

Wow, wasn't expecting a couple of the responses.

Thankyou to everyone that likes the kittens. Glad most of you enjoyed the pics.

Rat Finkenstein, thank you.

Thankyou, I think so too! I do believe my mother took them to the local vet as they got the kittens. I think that's where they got the milk from.

Indeed you're right. Behavioural problems are sometimes exhibited in cats that have for one reason or another been taken too soon from their mothers. Puppies too.
Puppies for example shouldn't be taken sooner than 8 weeks. Don't know about cats.
My parents have a couple other female cats, one of which is the mother of the other cat, so hopefully they (and the dogs) will give the kittens the proper behavioural training.
The good thing is that there are two kittens, brother and sis. Less problems will arise because of that.
As far as I know.

But yeah, we have htought of that, I actually talked to my father about this yesterday. We'll definetely have a close eye on their behaviour.

Ditto. I'm really much more of a dog person myself, but I love cats too. Same with my parents infact, they're really dog people but they love cats.

Funny thing is, I just talked to my father and apparently their two pitbulls have totally adopted the kittens as their own. Now, they don't allow the dogs too close (fear of squashing), but the dogs apparently think the kittens are theirs!! I already saw yesterday that the dogs both cry continously when they're not around the kittens. They're totally obsessed with them.

Yes, we love pitbulls too. That's yet another thing some people will chastise me for on this forum.

We love pitbulls and tiny kittens, among a few other animals.

We're really horrible human beings, ....obviously.:p

That sounds like a much more humane way of solving the feral cat problem.
