Two different Daily Carry Knives

I found this AFCK in a box after a move. I had retired it many years ago when I was given the Sebenza from my wife. These have been the two daily carry knives I’ve had for the last 20 something years.

The Benchmade AFCK was my first quality folder and served me for 15 years while on patrol, SWAT, and my first stint as a detective. It shows the time as a hard use knife. Among other things, I remember stabbing the tires of a vehicle during a standoff with a man who we thought would run with a child in the car.

The second blade a Sebenza that has been on my belt since 2013 when I returned to the office as a supervisor in investigations and then command staff. It was my promotion present.

Both have cut seatbelts of people trapped in accidents, ropes of hanging suicide victims, and more damn pieces of evidence tape than a person should see in a lifetime!

I’m glad I’m retired now, but the sebenza still rides with me and is used almost daily, now for cutting steak and opening boxes.

It’s amazing how many memories can be tied to an inanimate object. I guess knife people here will understand.
