I used a rock tumbler and my anodizing equipment to try to put ano on both of my Keens, but the ano kept coming off through handling. (Notice how production knives tend not to have too much ano? We knives tend to more frequently have ano, but We (sometimes) uses a hot oil treatment to preserve that ano finish.) Anyway, after many trials, I could not find a combination of ano and finish that would be durable that I liked, so i went back to the drawing board and finished my two knives in two different ways.
The first knife was just put through a rock tumbler for a while and then reassembled. The second knife was stripped of its ano and then treated with a wheel on a grinder to give an orange peel finish. The two knives are shown side by side.
