two dollar mystery axe!

I went to an antique store today and outside of finding old carnival shooting gallery targets, I came across an axe for 2 bucks!

But the only marking I found was the letter P on it.

So, any of you guys recognize it, or should I run it through a wire wheel to see if I can't scare up some other markings on it.

Yeah heck, just clean her up and use her.
I don't recognize the mark, but she seems to be in good shape.

Unusually round poll. Someone might recognize that. But regardless of brand it looks like a good vintage axe. Wire wheel it, sharpen it and use it.

Any axe with a stamp like that means its not china. Looks like a great axe use it

I always check the bit with a file first, if its hard enough I then start the rehab process. Just be sure to get through the rust with the file first, the rust is actually very hard and also will clog the file making it seem to skate right off.

Nice looking axe.

yeah I checked. Just the letter P.

At the same store, they had an 8 lb sledge with UP markings on it.
