This guy is selling damascus blades on ebay. They look pretty nice, and he sounds like he knows what he's talking about. Has anyone here used any of this guy's blades? They look like they might be a pretty good deal.

K&G Knife Supply has been selling the Damascus under the name Mountain Man. Many of their Damascus blade blanks are made by Norm. I think Koval sells them also. The original Damascus Knives by TOPS were from 2-Fingers as well as some of Buck's fixed blades. In the past they mostly sold wholesale, I think the E-bay thing only started a couple of months ago. I see Norm every couple of weeks, so if you have a specific question let me know and I'll get an answer for you.

Cool, thanks for the info. I guess my only question is how thick the stock is overall, and if the blade has a distal taper. I assume when he says "Blades are mar-tempered for a 20% increase in toughness and superior edge holding." in the description, that means a differential temper?

The blades are heat treated in liquid salts. I will ask what he means by Mar-tempered, I know they are using a similar process for the 52100 Ed Fowler blades.
