Hi All I just wanted to show a couple knives that I will be taking to Blade. Please let me know what you think. The SeaShell Bowie Blade is about 10 1/2" long. The pattern is West Texas Wind made from 1084& 15n20. The handle is walrus Ivory. The SeaShell Guard is 416 Stainless. The other Bowie blade is also about 10 1/2" long. This is a Falling Ladder pattern. The Guard, ferrule, and frame are 416 Stainless. The handle material is Mammoth Bone. As always, Chuck Ward did a great job on the pictures.
Thanks for looking Mike

Somebody did a heck of a job on these two knives too.
Beautiful work Mike!

Both are outstanding as far as I'm concerned.

Where do you get mammoth bone scales large enough for a knife like that?

Mike, it would be really great to see more of you and your knives on this forum.

Those are 2 beauties Mike, they won't last long. I especially like the seashell.

Mike, they're both great, but that "Texas Wind" pattern is a real eye catcher. Fittings are nice too.

Mike,

Great knives. I like both patterns, but the Texas Wind really is flashy.

Holy COW ! Those knives scared the bejeesus out of me ! Very nice knives. It'll be a previledge to see them in person.

Those are the nicest I think I have seen you do Mike. Very impressive. sorry I can't see them in person but the photos are nice. Best of all to you and yours at the show. I'm sure Roger will be stopping by and all the other CKCA guys too and I offer a hearty hello to all.

Hi Mike,
Both are fantastic bowies, beautifully done.
How is that mammoth bone to work? Is it stabilized? We dont see much of it.

I like your work just fine, Mike....but I am HATING the preponderance of rounded choils/ricasso regions, don't think we ever came up with a firm name for it....regardless, people building knives with that feature are not building them for me.

Shell guard is very nicely done, but the inside dimple needs some sort of further finishing.

Don't care for the fossil bone either.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Just in case anyone didn't notice the dates on this thread, these are Mike's Blade Show knives from last year.

In fact, the one below won last year's Blade Show "Best Bowie" award.
Good luck on your 'MS' testing Mike.
