Two for my Video

I recently had the pleasure of filming the "Custom Knife Sheathmaking" video (it is due out in August). The following two sheaths were made during the filming of the how-to video: (a third sheath - a snakeskin inlay was started during filming - I used it to demonstrate how I do an inlay - the sheath will be finished and pictured at the end of the video)

The first is a CactusRose knife/sheath collaboration - a basic pouch sheath with panel/basket weave deco:

The knife is a hunter by companero Gib Guignard of CactusForge - BTW - this is probably the only "modern" style sheath/hunter knife that will ever be offered by CactusRose.

The second - but not least! - is a collaboration between myself and Ken Beatty of Waco Knives. I made a Mexican loop style as the second type for the video as it is easily adapted to a standard blade only style sheath with a regular belt loop or a loop like the popular laced up "gunfighter" style or....
It sports period style carving, a silver concho, and an aged finish.

The knife by Ken is a real beauty - a Bowie any cowboy would be proud to pack!

Please let us know when this comes out. I will definitely be ordering one.

Thanks for the info,

Beautiful, can't wait to see the video! Presumably you'll show us how you carved the feathers, that is great. I've been thinking about the Mexican loop sheath for a long time, and always wanted to see how to do good inlay. I'm looking forward to this one too. Thanks for the preview Chuck.

You can count on me buying one of those videos, Chuck! I hope you'll be making it available in DVD format also.

Howdy guys and thanks!
The video is one of the Knifemaker's videos (lots more besides this one) being developed by www.ccinstructionalvideos.com - it should be out in August and will be available in both VHS and DVD.

Dave - yes I do give a basic carving lesson.

I'm wanting to try my hand at sheathmaking Chuck, I'll be a customer. I already have the Johnny Stout Hollowgrinding tape (this is the 2nd one, much improved over the first) and it's really good.
