Bill Ankrom is a well known maker of fine folders but has a talent for doing the Loveless style fighters, too. I saw my first Ankrom Chute knife at the Las Vegas show in 2006 and immediately placed an order. During futher conversations with Bill he told me he also does the Chute in a slightly smaller version, approx 70% of the original. Had to order one of those, too.

Bill, brought a couple of fighters to the Plaza Show and they went immediately. He will have a couple at the Solvang Show, they won't last.

These are flat ground and hand rubbed to 2500 grit, alot of work. I ordered mine with premium Stag. Fittings are 416 Stainless. Fit and finish are simply outstanding!

Large: BL 4 1/4" OAL * 7/8" Small: BL 3 3/4" OAL 7 3/4"

I am a sucker for a nice chute knife, and when Win posted about the chutes, post-Vegas, I ordered a 5 1/2" version from Bill.

He makes a fantastic knife.

Win great looking chutes.Bill shipped my drop point hunter i had on order a few weeks ago.Same beautiful handrubbed ATS-34 blade,416 fittings with ironwood scales..As stated fit and finish is outstanding.

I'm going to order a matching semi-skinner.And a regular sized chute with amber stag next.
 
Bill has long been one of my favorite knifemakers.

He was a tool and die guy all of his life, and can play a tune on a lot of tools!:D
 
I've fallen in love with his work, too. Absolutely top rate F&F.

I'm not surprised at these!

I think I like the bigger one just a little more, because I think the stag looks nicer, but I think they are both excellent.
 
Win - you just keep surprising us with the beautiful knives you acquire.

I got one of the larger Chute's from Ankrom and it's just as Win described - absolutely beautiful work! If you're looking for quality at a decent price, give Ankrom a call.

Greg, has a large collection of Loveless knives and it's good to see an Ankrom join the party.

I'm starting another post with a couple of other of Bill's fighters.
