For the last 10 months or so, just about everything out of the shop has been done with my bold temper lines. I'm glad they're popular, but it's so nice to be able to change things up every now and then.

Here's two I've just finished up -- one plain carbon and one Damascus.

Montero Drop-point hunter, forged from 1084. 416 Stainless hardware. African Blackwood handle.

Damascus hunter (1084 and 203E). Nickel Silver hardware. Buffalo Horn handle.

Those are beauties...maybe I should place a few more orders ;). Great knives Terry.

Wonderful, both of them. That drop-point hunter has such classic lines and excellent finish. The Damascus knife has stunning good looks. It makes for a real dressy hunter that looks like it would have no trouble doing an excellent job in the field.

I am starting to get more of an appreciation for damascus knives. This beautiful hunter and some other fabulous knives I have seen recently are the reasons why. I have always liked the looks of damascus, but never really thought that it was as good a knife steel as many of the others. This is something I now think is a fallacy. Much of the best damascus will compare favorably to any other knife steel with similar characteristics. It is definitely not an inferior steel.

LOVE that drop point!!! Gorgeous design, and looks like a heck of a fine using knife. Well done.

Forgive a dumb question but what is that little notch on the spine of the carbon steel drop point?

Elegant flowing lines - always did like single guards.

Terry, a couple more stunners. You just keep making them ...

I have to say, your work is one of my inspirations. I'm not copying your designs but when I make a knife, I want to aspire towards something.

The mantra - fit and finish, fit and finish, fit and finish...

Actually are the white streaks reflections ? Didn't look like part of the horn.

Would love to see the sheaths.

Cheers.

Awesome Terry! Just love to see knives with African Blackwood and damascus, even if they are not on the same knife ;)

Keep it up man, that is some great stuff!

Thank you kindly guys. :)

redvenom,
That's not a dumb question at all. It's just a little simple and understated filework that I borrowed from my friend and mentor, Jerry Fisk. The spine has a small thumb grip filed in and the little notches are just a way to terminate the grooves and dress it up ever-so-slighty. Here's a top view:

Jason,
You are correct. The apparent streaks are reflections in the horn.

Terry, from that closeup top shot, the dramatic distal taper is amazing, especially when done like that on such a small knife. Yup, you don't have to go over the top with embellishments. Very often, practical is beautiful. I'm not surprised your work is so popular.

Cheers.

Just another couple drool worthy specimens from that Primos dude! I'm really starting to LOVE African Blackwood. And, now damascus? Geez, when will it end? :)
