It looks like you beat BigBore, but it doesn't count unless you buy something.

the more Kerambits I see the more I am starting to know that I need one..... but then I did just get one triangle box in the mail today, and still have a "Magnum" triangle box coming. Love the Samsher so far, can't wait to do some chopping with it (and even more so the one that is still coming (don't worry I will show it off once I get it :-)))

Yea, I'm going to jump on that Kerambit and ASTK. I'll take both. EMS.

I posted yesterday afternoon that I'd take the Kerambit and ASTK and sent an email to Yangdu with the required info including payment info. Followed up with a second email in the evening and then a phone call today and I haven't heard anything back. No one from HI has posted anything since early this morning. Are they OK?

I'm new to this section and maybe not familiar with the right protocols, so any help is appreciated if I need to do something else next time.

BFS,

Auntie is literally running the show by herself, so sometimes it can take a bit for her to get back to you. She's generally pretty good about checking mail, but yeah, sometimes it can take her a minute. She's probably just working her way through the queue. Apart from managing the store orders, and sorting the DOTD emails, she also has to get everything packaged up.

Give it a bit more time and she'll get to you, she's 100% on customer satisfaction.

I will say, unfortunately, somebody beat you to the ASTK. On the K-Bit? Who can say. They're pretty rare, and people occasionally stealth items.

My money is that you narrowly missed out, and you'll be getting a "Long gone" email by tomorrow.

But don't worry about it too much. We've got a bunch of sales coming up, and odds are that auntie might have something else on hand that she can set you up with. She's done that for many people, multiple times.

Main key is just patience. One woman show, but she does a fantastic job dealing with us chuckleheads, definitely above and beyond.

Thank you for the response. I was more concerned that something might have happened than I was about the knives. Good to know she's just busy. I'll wait to hear.

Sorry BFS, I probably beat you to the ASTK by 45 minutes, according to the posting time stamps. The kerambit may still be yours.

It is the weekend, and auntie is usually busy with personal business, or other business that needs attention. She'll probably send you an email by Monday 10am PST.

Some emails also don't get through to her for whatever reason, if you PM me an email to her, I can forward it to her, to ensure that she gets it.

FYI. Posting here is a courtesy to let others know that you have sent an email for a particular item. The email to auntie (himimp@aol.com) is the one that counts. If your email is first for an item, it's yours. Auntie usually responds to any emails for DOTD items with a "done deal", or "long gone".

Done Deal = you got it, and she'll let you know when she plans on shipping it, and the additional cost of shipping. You may then submit payment (cost of knife listed on DOTD with the additional S&H charge) with via Paypal.

Long Gone = the item you want has been claimed by someone already.

Just because the item on the BF thread doesn't say "sold", doesn't mean it's available. Someone might have already gotten it, and auntie just hasn't updated the thread. Also, not all people post on the thread "EMS", they instead "stealth shark" the item, and the only way you know someone beat you to it, is by emailing auntie and receiving the dreaded "long gone".

Patience and what should be yours will always be there for you. There is great belief on this forum that "The blade will find you". Many members, including myself, have stories of DOTDs being hours, or days old, and a blade that we like would still be there, just waiting for us, because no one else ems'd for it, incredible as it seems, it's true. I have many one offs that I thought for sure would be claimed by someone, would still be there, it's as though fate knew I'd be coming by to claim the item.

Thank you for taking the time to type that out. It explains a lot.

I got my first Khukuri, a Tin chirra, from here a few weeks ago. I wish I had appreciated them years ago. I can't believe you can get that much for so little. And learning about how they're made and what a Kami goes thru in his life to obtain the level they do, gives me a whole new respect. I look forward to learning more.
