I only have two Queen knives. The other is an old electrician's. Don't know much about them either. But I saw this one for cheap and grabbed it. I don't know about it yet. Not too fond of the way it looks. Pretty nice knife. Hmm...on the fence. Lucky it was cheap. :)

The Schrade-Walden was cheap, too. I have a couple but can't resist them. Lot of steel left and good snap. I just love these knives...impractical for carry, but a neat piece of history.

I can't read the etch on the Queen, but it looks like an old #8 Stockman in Winterbottom Delrin. I love those things. Nice catch!

It says 16, the rest is hard to read. Can you tell me more? I'd appreciate it.

Not a lot, but the tang stamp tells us it was made in 1978. As far as I know, Queen was still using 440C back then. Mine from that era take a very nice edge and hold it quite well. I can't be certain, but it looks like the main clip blade on yours is a little short, it may have been tipped and reground. Here's mine.

Very close to the Schrade 34OT middleman stockman in size.

The scales are Delrin jigged and colored to imitate Winterbottom bone. Here it is with a Congress from the fifties with genuine Winterbottom bone for comparison.

Here it is with the other stockman pattern Queens I've accumulated.

Jack, thanks much. Very informative. Yep that's the knife and you're right, there is some tip damage which is why I got it so cheap. No big deal for me. I'm gonna get that sucker sharp and carry it. (It's a year younger than me...I've got a few battlescars too...and not much hair, so I guess we both lost some at the tip.) :)
