Two Hand Wakizashi... what are my options?

Looking for a short blade (20ish inch) Waki type blade with a 10" or longer handle (notice i didn't say tsuka... i don't care about traditional design) that won't break that bank.

Is the Tactical Waki from Hanwei my only option?

I can't seem to find any of this configuration anywhere else unless it's either a piece of crap, or $500+
 
What is it with you and making these threads.. Not that they bother me I just wonder if anyone should be recommend anything for your and other's safety.

Lastly by Kokatana do you mean the "Cheness" kokatana because from my understanding there is no such thing as a ko-katana traditionally. It would be called a wakizashi with a long tsuka.

Anyways yes there are some. If you want a good performing one that I personally had a hand in helping design you can get a kokatana from Hung Shing True Sharp. Keep in mind these are NOT traditionally designed blades and the fittings are alloy and not as good quality.

first, i am pretty certain that i have never ONCE used the term "kokatana". I am pretty sure that i said "Waki type blade with a 10" or longer handle"

that aside, the reason for all the posts is that i have just decided to expend some funds to gather up a group of weapons that i've wanted for quite some time.

I am not a child. I'm not planning to use the items that i buy in an irresponsible manner.

I'm looking at your recommendation now. Thanks for that.
 
Swamp Rat Waki, and Rucki. They are made well, very strong, kind of expensive, but worth it. They may not be as light and balanced as a traditional example, but they should be stronger. I've beat on dead trees with my Waki as hard as I could, the Waki just laughs and asks for more please.
 
Perhaps a CS two handed katana machete? That won't break the bank, and might fit your bill also. Maybe get one of Storm Crow's bush swords? There are definitely options.
