As part of a number of knives that have found the right path leading to our collections here are a few knives that might be of interest.
First is a small fighter by Jerry Fisk
OAL is 10 1/2" with a 6" 1084 blade, N/S fileworked guard and Curly Maple handle complete with Kenny Rowe sheath. It is very nicely delicately balanced piece with, as expected, outstanding workmanship by JF.
Just arriving this week after some touchup work and re bluing following the Wolverine show is this "big honkin' Bowie" by Jerry Rados. JR says that this piece is his first non-damascus knife in 20 years.
OAL 17" --yup it is massive -- with an 11" forged 5160 blade set in a nice stag handle and blued fittings with a particularily nice butt. JR created a sheath and also a nice stand for displaying this Bowie.
Lastly is this pair of Tom Ferry knives --one a massive Civil War D guard Bowie -- almost a cutlass mated with a small hunter.
Many may have seen these before as Coop got a much better image. This large reflective blade is the most difficult I have had to work with.
The Bowie OAL is 17 3/4" with an unknown steel (Tom if you read this perhaps you can advise) blade of 12 1/2". The Damascus D guard and ferrule again are an unknown mixture.
The Hunter OAL is 9 1/2" with a 4 1/2" blade and is very light and delicate but when mated provide a wonderful combo between utilitarian and defensive purposes surely put to good use in the historical times on which this combo is based.
Both knives have Tiger Stripped Maple handles.
