Just got rid of one of my mini griptilians, and my spyderco delica.

Here's to ending the addiction before it starts.

Are you completely bailing out, or are you keeping 1 or 2 knives? I don't see any problem in trying to limit a "collection." I hate to have a collection, because that means most don't get used.

certainly one should'nt be burdened by too many possessions. remember it's a good idea to not let your items possess you. however i do'nt fight this particular addition.
no hangovers
knives do.ny eat or cry
they do'nt waste energy
entertainment cost is low
help introduce one to new friends
you can gift them & make people smile
more fun than collecting marbles
but as always i say follow your own heart.

I was saying to myself last year: self, you will reduce your knives to 3 fixed and 5 folders.

Didn't work yet but that's still my goal. I gave 15 relatively cheap knives away to the guy who sharpens some of my blades, maybe he will in turn cut me a deal next time I need his service. I tried to sell some of them but gave up and decided to just give them away.

One reason I like jabby sticks is because they represent a connection to the past. If I'm addicted to that then OK, there are worse addictions. Good excuse aye? ;)

I'll see your two knives and raise you one.

I just gave a way two more folders yesterday.
I'm sending another one to my Dad today.

My collection is getting down to the best of the best now.

It feels great.

Well, there are so many interesting pastimes one could be involved in, and if I think logically about it: a collection of maximum 10 knives should be sufficient. So, good for you that you can keep the addiction at bay.

I can't even keep myself down to ten knives each from my favorite manufacturers.;)
