Hi,

Looking to buy a new knife. I can get a new kershaw boa for $75 shipped with 440V steel (I think?) or a cuda dominator for $110 with S30V...Also I like a small footprint so the narrower one I would prefer. Can anyone measure the width of these knives and report back? Is the 35 bucks worth it for the S30V steel? Not very familar with the boa but they both are what im looking for... ( nice steel, assist opening, metal handle, etc) Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

To me personally S30V is well worth $35 more, and I like the overall design of the Dominator better. 440V will hold an edge forever on soft materials, but it has to be left fairly soft to avoid brittleness and has a tendecy to indent when it hits hard materials. S30V is a much tougher steel and takes a finer edge. The Boa is a beautiful, well made knife but it has a few shortcomings. The deep recurve is difficult to sharpen without special equipment (Sharpmaker or Edge Pro), and the speed safe isn't overly durable. Mine broke after two years of occasional use. Kershaw fixed it right away but I'm not keen on sending my EDC back to the factory every two years for major maintenance. JMO of course.
