I don't know if I'm getting the kydex hot enough to really form everything well, I think that I'm just impatient as usual. I kept having to heat and re-form everything. So, I'm wondering if I kept the kydex at 250 degrees and left it in the oven longer if it would become more pliable than just heating it up to 300 and going at it as soon as I can get it to move.

Anyways I just got a holster done for my Zippo and one for a wedding ring to use for when I'm on a job where I can't wear any rings. (a lot of places have policies in those regards) Also the ring will not fall out, it takes two hands to take the ring out.

How long do you keep your kydex in at 250 for? I heat at 325. Smaller things like you posted and smaller knife sheaths stay in for 5 minutes. Larger pieces like gun holsters go in for 7 minutes. I have found this to be optimal for me. Max pliability with no major shrinkage or deformaties.

Lot easier and faster to work with it on a griddle instead of a toaster oven. I leave it at 290ish

I have it in there only for may 3 or 4 minutes, basically as soon as I can get it to move around easily. Most likely the answer is, not enough time.

I cranked the heat up a bit, just playing and it kind of turned out ok, but I'm going to have to modify my press a bit. (also I had to add a tab to get the sheath to open up a tad to fully put the knife in.
