Here's a couple more village models.

Top -- Standard 14 inch one pound villager. Good tough blade, about 59 or 60 Rc, sharp. Partial tang. Nice sized handle but epoxy fix crack on left side. Karda and chakma throw away. Very decent scabbard and frog.

Take it home for $35.

Bottom -- nice horn handled Sirupati. 15 inches, 18 ounces. Brass inlay and pretty decent looking for villager. Light rust a couple of inches ahead of cho -- 15 minute fix. Nice horn handle and decent buttcap. Full length tang. Excellently hardened. Good village kami knew what he was doing. Karda and chakma fair. Pretty good scabbard and frog.

Take this one for $45.

Call or email.

I'm curious. Can you tell it's partial tang from outside appearance, or is it just a safe assumption given it's a villager of this style.

what type of wood was used on the villager's handle. Looks darker than usual, is it walnut?

If you see the buttcap held on with a nail one might become suspicious.

That's the way to tell, Rusty. But sometimes they use a "fat" nail and peen the head over trying to fool you.
