If you have one or a few of the Northwoods knives, share your thoughts on your favorites.

I'm very happy with my Burnside Jack, but am also intrigued by the Forrest Jack and Elephant Ivory Norfolk. Here's a picture of my Burnside.

Just waiting for the norfolk in ebony. Here's a capture from their site.

Best regards

Is that the calico bone Derrick? And I love the look of the new pouches! The smaller knives don't get 'lost' in them do they? If you catch my meaning...?

Cheers Richard :-)

Of course, the Norfolk is sweet too!

The older Queen made Northwoods gunstock is fantastic. I got mine for a really good price because its a few years old. I really need to pick up one of those Northwoods Norfolks....

Yes, that is a calico bone. The pouch is obviously too large for that knife, but it works fine for it. I have gotten so used to carrying the pouch that it goes into it just like my larger knives. Works just fine. :)

Ok, so here is probably a better answer from me. I snapped this pic this morning at the store.

These are, hands down, my favorite two Northwoods.

The top one is a Burnside. I am in love with the dogleg design -- it fits my hand perfectly. I also love (and I know some don't) the Northwoods stamp on the blade.

The second one is the Indian River Jack. It is my favorite all around user pocket knife. It is thin, stout, ATS-34 steel and razor sharp (convex ground by Bark River). Honestly, it is everything I love in a pocket knife.

My current favorite is the one in my pocket! :) Sorry for the bad pic.

No! You guys are killing me got to keep telling myself I don't need another knife when I got the email that these were available had to close my eyes and erase it here they are again ...LoL.. Gotta stay out of here.

Have to agree with Derrick on the Indian River Jack for all the same reasons. I'll add its a very slim and light package that caries very well. There is a lot of blade packed into that frame. As mentioned before the Bark River convex on the blade is superb. Here's mine in cocobolo.

Derrick yours is sweet. I wish those covers were still available.

My second would have to be the GEC made bullet jack. The reason being is I really like the 25 frame. It's the perfect (IMHO) watch pocket size knife.

The Indian River jack is quite nice, it likes to go to work with me too :D

I love the ebony handles on it, and the Scagel nick is a nice touch.

Ahhh, that is an old one! I think those were made by Ol' Dave. (actually Queen, but he would say he did!)

I have yet to jump on any of the fine recent Northwoods knives, but I really like this older whittler in smooth bone, 440HC:

Boy, that 420HC really polishes well!

I am a bit of a steel snob, but Queen did do a great job with that steel. It works really well on a pocket knife.

The Mini Moose is the perfect second I'm looking for. Buying from over old Europe is still a pain, what with the rabid custom fees ! On the fence, nonetheless...

Of the different Northwoods I have the Dogwoods are my favorites. Small but seem a lot bigger than they really are when you use them.
