In one book I came across two knives.
#1. Named "Combat knife of special forces". No hint of origin. Looks -- A narrow dagger. Black coated. Closer to the handle there is a serrrated part? and then, near the guard handle -- unsharpend piece. Sharpened blade is aprox of the same lenght as handle.
Guard is rather large.
Handle's shape looks like F/S but is wrapped with leather, reinforced with metal wire and has no gooves. Pommel is cone-shaped.
#2. "Combat knife by "Maison de Coteleur"(sp?)" Dagger. Blade and handle are aprox. same sized. Has no guard, but on the blade, before the handle -- two deeep finger grooves. Handle is full tang. Shape -- octogonal. Longer sides (two on each half) are curved.
Would be gratefull for any info!

The dagger is a Sykes Fairbairn British Commando. The other knife, I don´t know.

Hi

I have a book describing the knives in this way:

#1 Ranger's combat knife. Black, double-edged, anti-reflecting blade, leather handle bound with brass wire, leather sheath.

#2 Short dagger in the "Equator" style by the Maison de Couteliers of Thiers (France). Double-edged, 440C steel blade. Micarta handle with sole-plate mounting. Leather sheath. Subtler version of a rather "serious" hand to hand weapon.

Hope this hepls a little.

It's important for you to tell us what it says on the blade of the silver colored dagger.

Thanks guys!!

Unfortunatly quality of the photo can hardly be described with printable words. If I could read the marking myself, I'd happily told about it.
