Two neck knives / kiridashi...Neckashi? WIP

Hello there!
I had a small piece of UHB20C steel laying around, and I felt that I needed a knife or two for leatherworking. So I drew up something that wouldn't waste alot of steel and these are what I came up with. They are something inbetween a neck knife and a kiridashi..a neckashi?? The one with the straight edge will be chisel ground and the other one will be symmetrically ground.
I'm planning on doing a japanese cord wrap with some paracord and then impregnating them with epoxy.
I'm posting these to hopefully get some feedback, it's always nice to get oppinions and criticism, preferably constructive .

I might do the heat treatment later, when it gets dark outside.
Thanks!

Those are really nice the way they are. I say leave the paracord off, and let these be naked. Maybe do a grey ferric wash and run them through a tumbler. They're too cool to cover up with paracord.

I actually agree, I don't want to paracord them. But since I will be using them for leatherwork, they might be alittle bit too skinny to hold as they are. The steel is only 3,5 mm thick so a cord wrap might be needed to get a steady grip. If they were thicker, like 5-6mm thick I'd leave them bare for sure!

The top knife looks good for general purpose utility but the sheepsfoot / straight edge would be the better of the two for leather work. Wrap that handle without epoxy and see how you like it, then epoxy it if it feels right.

Here's how they turned out! I quenched them in water, and got some nice looking, spontaneous hamons. If I have the time I might go back and sand the blades by hand and polish them to see how the hamons turned out, but this steel is not ideal for hamons, compared to something like 1075 or perhapes 1080.
I left them at 400 grit of the grinder, and I wasn't trying to make everything perfect.
Had these been knives for customers I would have gone over the blade and tuned my plunges etc, but since they will be for leatherworking I don't mind them as they are;)

Tanto-ish? I have not made up my mind on tantos, sometimes I like them but at other times I cannot stand them!

The bottom one!

EDIT: Top one no scales!

 I want to make them all. In damasteel.. or some RWL-34 with a super high polish.. or maby a blasted / satin two tone...or in 1075
with a differential heat treatment.. Got so many knife projects I want to start but I don't have the time lol :p
