Hey All,
Things have been quite busy for me lately and I haven't had the time to make knives like I want to. Our school is going great and we now have 80 students learning vocational education. Besides that my wife and I now have baby boy #2, Noah Michael Deibert. He was born three weeks ago. Needless to say I'm staying very busy. I just wanted to share a couple knives that we've done recently in the shop. Both of these blades are made from 5160. The Chopper was made by me. The blade is 11 1/4 inches long, OAL is 16 1/2, copper guard and handle made of Brazilian Cherry. This piece is going to Oregon.

The blade below was completed by Ramon, one of my apprentices. The blade is 5 inches long and the OAL is 9 1/2 inches. The guard is brass and the handle is a beautiful piece of Guayacan.

Thanks for looking,
Mike

awesome, Mike! Great to have you back, and congratulations!!!

Thanks Guys,
I appreciate the kind words. When things settle a little bit I hope to have some more work to post. Lorien, I still check out your threads to keep up with your way cool projects. Dave and Adam, hope to meet you both some day.

I really wish everyone could see the really cool details in the guayacan handle on Ramon's knife. There are many layers and they all appear to have different grains that seem all be transparent.

i gotta say i really love the forged finish on knives, it makes them look like users but adds style and class in my opinion. so a big thumbs up to you sir and your apprentice!

Beautiful work, man! Y'all are doing good things down there. And congratulations to both of you on the new son!

Nice report and beautiful knives, I really like the smaller one's profile. Keep up the great work.
