Two, new happy Benchmade customers!

So my 75 year old father really surprised both my son and I the other day. Dad shows up at the house with Benchmades for my son and I, 551's from Cabelas in D2 blade steel. My son got OG green and I got black and we are both impressed with these knives, being our first Benchmades. The quality is fantastic and feel is perfect. We were both floored by the gifts out of the blue and Dad has always been a Buck guy, so this was very interesting coming from him.

The next step is for me to get Dad one! I just wanted to express how much we like these knives and I know I am late to the Benchmade party, but better late than never!
 
Nice! Has your dad checked out the crooked river? I hear there might be a mini crooked river on the horizon. Benchmade and Buck are my two most carried brands.

Also a suggestion... although has your father checked out the Bucks at Copper and Clad or SK blades? Sorry for the mention of another brand in this section... My carry EDC rotation is 80% BM knives and 20% Buck.
 
Scott, thank you for the suggestions. I have checked out C&C and SK, both are awesome with their additional Buck choices. I will look into the Crooked River now. Thanks again.
 
Thats great. The 551 is a classic design and really embodies everything an EDC should be. Its relatively lightweight and tough as nails. Love the D2 as well.
 
That is a good story. Now every time you look at that knife you'll remember your father, and your son'll remember his grandfather. That's one thing that will never lose its value.
 
Thank you everyone. We have had them in our pockets almost every waking moment. I am lucky to have my Dad around, he is pretty cool and still hunts with us, very active guy.
 
Myself also ,I'd do prefare mini knives as an older chap lol.
Preferably with g10 not plastic as I've finally sold all mine lol.
I'd never by another plastic knife.G10 or better for this old guy lol.
The likes of the forey for eg is like night and day.the mini grip to me is a toy compared to the foray and nakamura.which are sold Quality old benchmade stuff.
