During the lull between hunting seasons, I picked up a couple of new processing knives. One from Tim Olt, up in Michigan, and another from Rick Menefee out of Oklahoma.
Got to use them both this week, processing deer taken on my son's new property. Swamp and pine woods. It's a deer factory.

Two very nice looking skinners. Congrats, also, on the deer. That Menefee, in particular, looks like a mean slicer. Do you have a preference of the two?

I can't see any difference in performance. Both are very good at taking animals apart. Both knives are 154CM steel. Tim's is triple cryo treated, not sure about Rick's knife. The Menefee knife is really a fishing knife, and it does a fine job on Sea Trout and Catfish.
Can't say I prefer one over the other. I am going again tomorrow, and hope to try out a new knife by Larry Rossi, and another by Rick Menefee.
