Just picked up the "new" CS Long Horn Hunter thumb stud version. Excellent fit and finish. Has delrin stag scales which ain't the greatest if you ask me but serviceable. A very classic looking lock back using the tri-ad lock. Like a bank vault than you very much. Easy to release too. Blade is a clip point ground very thin and cuts ya just looking at it. Yes it is SHARP! Pocket clip was so tight though I couldn't fit over my pocket seam but bent it out so now all is good. Delrin is kind of slippery though so maybe new scales are in order. Some nice g10 in black. Any volunteers? Anyways for the bucks paid a very fine folder. It would be outstanding imho if CS had these made in something other than AUS8a, although the way the makers heat treat it it seems to be better than most other AUS8a bladed knives I used.

The other I bought is a Don Shipley dropped hunter. 5160, distal taper, handmade kydex sheath that was way to tight so gave it the hot foot treatment and now it is just about perfect. Even came with a belt loop hanger you can remove if you like. This knife is industrial strength for sure. .25" spine with a nice distal taper. Black g10, corby bolts ground flush, black g10 handle slabs that are riveted and some kind of acrylic glass epoxy so they ain't coming off. Blade length 4.75" and the handle is longer about 5" so it balances out nicely. It is blued too and he even tells ya how to cold reblue the finish to keep it as is when used. It's a heavy bugger but well balanced. The thing about this one though is the price. I won't say but trust me on this one looking around here as I do with all the excellent makers etc. this knife would stand against any of them and blow them out of the water for pricing. Think Flarehty pricing only better with that level of quality. A friggin bargain. Ok maybe pics to follow but I"ll tell ya with my computer and camera it is a hassle to post them. keepem sharp
