I just got two new knives in the the mail yesterday - a BM 710 in M390 and a Spydie Manix2 XL.These are absolutely the two sharpest OOTB folders I've ever received but the startling thing is that the BM is actually sharper than the Spyderco. Benchmade isn't exactly famous for the keeness of their edges but they seem to have really stepped up their game on their m390 blades. Both blades are hair popping sharp but the BM is just effortless when shaving arm hair. Is taking this kind of edge a property of M390? If so, I hope more companies start using it.
In general, though, I do like the Manix2 XL better overall due to ergos, blade shape/FFG and the updated ball lock. I have a D'allara with the old ball lock and it's a bit of a pain to use. The new ball cage is a vast improvement. I hope they put one out in M390 someday.
