Today I finally got my long awaited Para 2. First thing I noticed, the G10 is definitely grippier than my Para 1. My Para 1 opens a bit smoother, but it is used, so it's well broken in. That said, the Para 2 closes much more smoothly. Once the compression lock is engaged, the blade just falls closed. The comp. lock is a bit sticky, but I expect it to break in with lots of use. Also, what a friggin' lanyard hole this thing's got. I don't use lanyards, but if I did, there sure would be enough room to fit any kind of lanyard you want through there. Ergos are typical Spyderco: awesome. The only negative I can find so far would be the clip. It's too shiny for my tastes. I might just get a low-rider for it to solve that issue though.

The other I got was a little Lady Bug. First thing, it's a lot smaller than I originally though it was going to be. But, that's a good thing. It just disappears in a pocket. Good, grippy FRN scales. It locks up very solid for a knife of it's stature. I also got one that has screw construction, not pinned. I used this little guy all day at work and it works great. It's a true "little big knife". I know I said I don't like lanyards, but I put a simple little lanyard on it and it really helps get a better grip on it. Plus, it doesn't hurt the compactness of it whatsoever.

All in all, I am really happy with both knives. They compliment each other nicely as well. The Lady Bug is more socially acceptable to use around NKP and the Para 2 can handle more serious cutting chores very well. I'll probably carry this duo for quite a while.

Nice. How does the Para 2 carry in pocket? I'm worried that it will be hard to get used to, since I'm used to the compactness (is that a word?) of my Sage.

It carries surprisingly well. The Sage carries better, but the Para 2 is still very nice. The only problem with my personal Para 2 is disengaging the lock. It has actually gotten progressively worse whilst trying to break it in. I think a trip back to Golden is in order.
